Elizabeth Taylor Lived in Old Las Palmas

We are reminded again of the connection between Elizabeth Taylor and Palm Springs. She was given a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars on January 21, 1994. Flowers surround her star in downtown Palm Springs.
Taylor and her third husband, movie producer Mike Todd, leased a Palm Springs estate in the Old Las Palmas neighborhood. The Palm Springs Art Museum owns a 1957 picture of the couple. Not surprising, in the 1950s, the Old Las Palmas prestigious area of Palm Springs was home to many stars such as Debbie Reynolds, Eddie Fisher, Jack Benny, Jackie Cooper, Katherine Hepburn, Clark Gable and a long list of other Hollywood elite. Her home has been called the Elizabeth Taylor Estate home and is open for weddings and events.
Taylor loved the Coachella Valley so much that she purchased her mother a condo in the Sunrise Country Club in Rancho Mirage. She also honeymooned in the area with Richard Burton. And she chose the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage for her rehab program.
