My sister is a tennis fanatic, watching not playing.  A few days ago she was telling me how fantastic it was to watch the match where Novak Djokovic beat her favorite, Rafael Nadal, at the BNP Paribas Open match in Indian Wells, California.  I said, “You know, the Indian Wells Tennis Garden is only about a 15 minute drive from your condo in Rancho Mirage, don't you?"  "You are kidding," she said, "I didn't even realize it.  I'll have to be there for next year's tournament."  She bought the condo about a year ago because it was a free standing home with an enclosed yard and thought it would be a great place to retire.  For now it is a second home for her.

Like many people, my sister didn't realize there are 13 desert cities which make up the Coachella Valley, including Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, Indian Wells, Bermuda Dunes, LaQuinta, and Indio.
