Fireworks in the desert, too!
 
You may be thinking there are no fireworks in Palm Springs or anywhere in the Coachella valley to celebrate the 4th of July but you would be wrong.  There will be "All American Fourth of July" fireworks spectacular sponsored again this year by the city of Palm Springs and POWER baseball.  http://www.palmsprings.com/forums/showthread.php?p=12193
 
Watch your dog on the 4th of July
 
Many dogs become scared by the 4th of July fireworks and run away or hide.  Sgt. Luis Rosa of Thousand Palms has said that the days following any fireworks are very dangerous for stray animals and many end up being hit by cars.
