Desert Hot Springs is located just north of Palm Springs, it is a sparsely populated area which is growing thanks to a promotional push by the city to attract new businesses to the area. Desert Hot Springs is commonly referred to as "the little city with the big heart" and is probably most well-known for its mineral hot springs at such resorts as Two Bunch Palms and the Mineral Springs Hotel. There are over 40 hotels located in Desert Hot Springs with over 1000 rooms.
The Cabot's Old Indian Pueblo Museum is also located in Desert Hot Springs. It is a 35 room adobe that was built entirely by one man, Cabot Yerxa. He began its construction in 1914 and it is currently undergoing restoration.
