La Quinta is often referred to as the "gem of the desert" and rightly so. La Quinta is one of the most rapidly growing cities in the entire country. La Quinta may be best known as the home of the La Quinta Resort and Club. A historic hotel that was originally opened in 1927 and was the site of the Coachella Valley's first golf course, it was also home to what is now known as the Pacific Life Open tennis tournament. What used to be a 12,000 seat tennis stadium has been demolished and re-developed into a world-class spa.
La Quinta also hosts the annual La Quinta Arts Festival which is considered one of the major annual attractions in the Coachella Valley, drawing thousand of visitors each year. One of La Quinta's best kept secrets is Lake La Quinta Inn, a charming bed and breakfast with lakeside views. La Quinta is also home to The Beer Hunter Pub, by far the most popular watering hole not only in La Quinta but arguably in the entire Coachella Valley.
