What can be said about the City of Palm Springs that has not already been said? It's reputation as a luxury resort town with fabulous dining and spectacular vistas dates back to the 1930's when many of the stars of Hollywood's golden age made Palm Springs their private well-kept secret getaway. Today, Palm Springs is one of the most popular vacation and resort destinations in the world.
The downtown area is the center of social activity and commerce. Shops and restaurants line Palm Canyon Drive and resort hotels dot the landscape. Palm Springs is known for the International Film Festival every January where the stars come out, the Fabulous Palm Springs Follies, Palm Springs Villagefest and the Indian Canyons. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Palm Springs is the Palm Springs Tram with its rotating cars. It ascends over 8,500 ft. to the top of Mount San Jacinto.
